A solid opening showing by Redbridge on their Capital League debut, and it was Wixon
who scored the only goal of the game on 10 minutes as he latched onto a Hahn lobbed cross. Solaja almost scored for Motors
on 14 minutes, and O'Connor came close later on in a match which swung end to end. No further goals came and the result ended
1-0 to Aveley.
vs Harlow Town H 4-2 Solajo 2, Edmunds, Turner att 15
A fine Capital League home debut saw Redbridge run in a 4-2 win. It was Edmunds that opened
on 5 minutes with a mazzy run and shot to put Redbridge 1-0 up, On 32 minutes Turner turned in a corner to make it 2-0, and
further scoring chances came and on 40 minutes Solajo shot home from 25 yards 3-0. Solajo added his second late on,
after Oshitola had pulled one back for Town to make it 4-1 and Osei made it 4-2 just before the whistle.
vs AFC Hornchurch A 1-0 Oniha att 23
With Hornchurch fielding a very strong side it was of no suprise that they took the upper
hand early. As the game wore on Oniha was causing their defence problems with his electric pace, whilst Georgiou was strong
leading to him being hauled down in the box but no penalty. For extra entertainment a sprinkler came on soaking a linesman,
however Oniha had his reward after 84 minutes scoring from a Georgiou cross and Laxton later almost made it 2, but the score
remained at 1-0.
vs Potters Bar Town A 4-2 Turner 3, Georgiou att 20
A strong showing from Redbridge with Tuner heading over on 2 minutes, and O'Connor missing
a chance on 16 minutes, but despite all that it was Potters Bar that took the lead on 20 minutes as Enver flicked home from
a Parratt cross. Turner headed a leveller a minute later, and Georgiou rounded the keeper on 35 minuyes to put Redbridge 2-1
up. The second half saw another Edmunds cross hit home by Turner on 48 minutes, but 20 minutes later Iwedivno reduced the
lead to 3-2, leading to Redbridge going all attack and on 74 minutes Turner scored his third to make the score 4-2.
vs Potters Bar Town H 2-1 Ross, Laxton att 17
Another solid Redbridge showing saw this win, the action started early as Gillingham slotted
home on 2 minutes only for it to be disallowed yet another 20 minutes into the game and Ross was pulled down in the box which
saw Ross score the penalty. Redbridge attacked well and on 65 minutes Laxton headed home the second goal to finally
relax a little allowing a line ball to be called a goal making the final score 2-1 to Redbridge.
vs Hertford Town A 5-0 Laxton 3, Cole, Read att 24
One way traffic saw Redbridge take this win in their strideRoss and Jesus firing over before
Laxton put Redbridge 1-0 up on 39 minutes. On 63 minutes a Cole ball saw Laxton in position to make it 2-0, within 10 minutes
Cole himself collected the ball and hammered home 3-0. Read and Laxton added further goals after 83 and 86 minutes to complete
the rout.
vs AFC Hornchurch H 0-5 att 31
Hornchurch played with 9 first teams in this game but it started badley as Green had a serious
neck injury in a clash with keeper Durrell and was stretchered off waiting an ambulance. Within minutes of the restart Shave
tapped in the opener adding his second on 32 minutes. Stevens volleyed the third a minute later to give Hornchurch a 3-0 half
time lead, with no ambulance arriving yet, Redbridges changing room with the stretchered Green in, the players half time was
taken in the clubhouse. The second period saw Hunt score on 48 minutes, Ross have a goal disallowed for Redbridge on 51 minutes
and Lee score the last goal on 55 minutes to give Hornchurch a 5-0 win.
vs Hertford T PC H 3-3 pens 3-1 O'Connor, Oniha, Cole
att 36
A smashing and enthralling game saw Redbridge go through to face St Albans on November 9th.
Both sides started brightly with Town including 6 regular first teamers and Redbridge
introducing 5 under 18s. It was Dominic that gave Hertford the lead after 16 minutes from a corner, then O'Connor levelled
on 25 minutes with a power header. Hertford went back in the lead on 33 minutes through Scales, Redbridge levelled again through
Oniha from a Cole cross on 44 minutes. redbridge went 3-2 up on 50 minutes as Colehammered home, but Town came battling back
and on 92 minutes Bailey headed in to make it 3-3. Penalties saw Hibbert, Habu, & Adams scored to see the home side through.
vs Enfield Town A 3-1 Ross 2, Chiperfield att 30
A relatively straight forward win for Redbridge as on 16 minutes with a header in the top
left hand corner of the goal, the second was a Chiperfield chest down, then Ross tap in, from a Brook corner. On 66
minutes Town pulled one back as Lockie smashed home from 25 yards but Ross made it 3-1 with an effort from a Brook corner.
vs Cheshunt H 2-1 O'Connor, Ross att 33
A battling performance from Redbridge against a strong Cheshunt side, the away side having
two good chances early on as Durrell saved well. The opening goal came from a pinpoint Georgiou cross on 18 minutes which
O'Connor spanked the ball home, The game opened up and both sides created opportunities and on 40 minutes a ball was
pumped into the box for Ross to tap in. The second half saw a strong Cheshunt come close and finally on 67 minutes Duru chased
clear and slotted the ball low past Durrell to make it 2-1. Redbridge held out despite some pressure from Cheshunt to win
2-1 and stay clear top of the division.
vs St Albans C P Cup A 4-4 won 6-5 pens Cole, Ross, Georgiou,
Chipperfield att 16
Redbridge battled back from 3-0 down to win the tie 6-5 on penalties with a storming performance
against Conference South City.
City opened on the ascendant as Sanga with 2 goals, and Mortimer with a 25 yard volley gave
the home side a 3-0 lead by 33 minutes, Redbridge pulled a goal back before the break with a well struck shot from outside
the box on 40 minutes. The second half saw Redbridge open the St Albans defence but Sanga added his third goal before Ross
reduced the deficit on 72 minutes (4-2), Georgiou chipped in with 2 minutes left, and within a minute Chipperfield levelled
deservedly at 4-4. All penalties were scored until the 12th penalty which St Albans missed and Redbridge were through 6-5.
vs Enfield Town H 4-2
O'Connor 2, Cole, Laxton att 34
Despite going 2-1 down after after an early Cole tap in set the homesters on their
way on 15 minutes. The equaliser came on 32 minutes as Packenham tapped home from a sweet cross, and on 40 minutes Durrel
deflected a shot in the Redbridge goal to Clarke who swept the ball in. Redbridges battling qualities came to the fore as
on 62 minutes O'Connor headed home from a corner and Chipperfield header, and 3 minutes later a Kenedy through ball saw O'Conner
score his second with an excellent shot. A Minute later he was down with a broken ankle and taken to hospital eventually by
ambulance. The final goal was a Laxton penalty after Hibbert was fouled on 88 minutes to make it 4-2.
vs Cheshunt A 0-1 att
A desperately unlucky defeat at Cheshunt as Redbridge sucummed to a 48th minute penalty after
Donavon was pulled down the scorer being Harrison.
Redbridge ran the Cheshunt defence ragged as they piled on the pressure
Ameh hitting the bar, and Matson blasting wide on a couple of occassions, but the score remained at 0-1.
vs St Albans C A 1-2 Ross att 11
It was Redbridge with seven new players that dictated the terms in the first half, with Ross
going close on a number of occassions. However it was the saints that opened the scoring on 10 minutes as Baronet shot home.
Redbridge continued to dictate play and got the just rewards on 23 minutes as Ross was fastest to a rebounded Gillingham shot
and shot home 1-1.
On 41 minutes it was Baronet however who scored to put the home side 2-1 up.
The second half was a pretty even affair and saw no more goals.
Redbridge vs Hayes & Yeading H 1-3 Ross att 37
Redbridge bailed out of this years Presidents Cup with a spirited 3-1 defeat against Conference side Hayes and Yeading
at Oakside.
It was a bright opening from both sides. Marrable in the home goal was called upon early, making a good save
from Barnes. Both Duru and Scott caused the Hayes defence a few alarms. On 19 the visitors took the lead when a speculative
shot from Toby Little cannoned off Tom Woodbridge, wrong footing Marrable and in to an empty net. Redbridge continued to push
and Mark Nougher's long range effort was just wide.
On 34 Hayes were 2 up when Woodbridge cut inside, beat 2 players and
calmly slotted home. The young centre half pairing of Adams and Donovan continued to block the good passing from the visitors.
On 52 Hayes took a 3-0 lead when Woodbridge again came inside and scored. With the introduction of Ross and Batchelor, Redbridge
still caused danger to Hayes. Redbridge did score a consolation on 85 when a defensive mix up and the on rushing Bradley Ross
won a one on one, to score past the helpless keeper. In the final seconds a Matt Gillingham cross was well defended.
